New in OtherPics is my apartment complex in Charlotte, and my crappy old bathroom that I'm having renovated. The page also has the trip from Baghdad to Amman Jordan and on from there, plus a visit to Boston and a sightseeing trip to Boston on a Duck Tour (amphibious vehicle).

Our "hootchs" are little modular boxes, about 10x20, with a bathroom w/shower, a/c, mini-refrigerator, microwave, TV with DVD player and Orbit Cable (http://www.orbit.net) that works most of the time. We are very lucky, we have probably the best accommodations in Camp.

There are probably a dozen channels in English.  There are some Arabic channels that also play US TV with Arabic subtitles that aren't even listed on the Orbit website. The signals come and go, but there's always enough to watch. It's hard to get the tech on to the base to fix it. Some of the channels are pretty fascinating. Including radio-only and music-only, there are close to 300 channels.

The hootches and office trailers are on our own secure mini-base within Victory. I think our guards are here to protect us from the KBR guys (Kellogg Brown & Root).

Sometimes we drive to eat, makes it easier to take home snacks, but we usually walk to get the exercise.

We go through a lot of TP here. The standard here seems to be 100 squares per roll. The brand below is from Turkey, but we've also had some from Saudi Arabia. It's not up to the 1,000 sheet American standard, but it sure is some nice, soft Titiz. The heck with Charmin, I do love to squeeze the Titiz.
